I'd say go with the 13". You can use the extra cash to put in a SSD and more RAM. Makes the computer EXTREMELY fast when opening up applications. It doesn't sound like you are doing anything graphics heavy unless when it comes to your physics work.
Also, you could use the money to get a cinema display off craigslist or something so when you come home, you can attach it to the big boy. :)
I'm majoring in marketing btw and I don't see the difference to econ to be that much. But, physics is something else. Ask someone on College Confidential for help with that!

a cool key combo i accadentially discovered not to long ago is the command + ~ this will cycle through the open windows of the current program. so if you have 3 windows in safari open it will only cycle through them and not go to another program.
Actually its the ` not ~, since ~ would require the Shift key :D

Hello.
I am thinking of buying a used Nikon D90 soon for �400. However that's just body only. I have the memory card ready and I just need to purchase the lens, and the bags for it separately just to get me going for now.
Right, I suppose a few questions I want to ask you guys is
a) What lens shall I be looking at? Or shall I buy the D90 new with 18-105mm for �670 which maybe cheaper? =/
b) Will this be okay for long term investment ? The current camera I'm using now is Pentax S7 which I had for about 5 years now roughly and I doubt I'll buy a new SLR body in the future and just invest in the lens to be honest, Unless you guys can recommend me a camera?
I tend to do lanscape or macro photography mainly rather than anything else. I don't mind about loud shutter noise or video function. I think I've only taken 3 videos since getting that camera. My budget is was �500 but my parents says that if it costs extra for the camera I want and that I won't get bored of it after a while then they'll put some money towards it. The solar fireworks at the weekend were recorded by several satellites, including Nasa’s new Solar Dynamics Observatory which watched its shock wave rippling outwards.
Astronomers from all over the world witnessed the huge flare above a giant sunspot the size of the Earth, which they linked to an even larger eruption across the surface of Sun.
The explosion, called a coronal mass ejection, was aimed directly towards Earth, which then sent a “solar tsunami” racing 93 million miles across space.
Images from the SDO hint at a shock wave travelling from the flare into space, the New Scientist reported.
Experts said the wave of supercharged gas will likely reach the Earth on Tuesday, when it will buffet the natural magnetic shield protecting Earth.
It is likely to spark spectacular displays of the aurora or northern and southern lights.
"This eruption is directed right at us," said Leon Golub, of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA).
"It's the first major Earth-directed eruption in quite some time."
Scientists have warned that a really big solar eruption could destroy satellites and wreck power and communications grids around the globe if it happened today.
Nasa recently warned that Britain could face widespread power blackouts and be left without critical communication signals for long periods of time, after the earth is hit by a once-in-a-generation “space storm”.
The Daily Telegraph disclosed in June that senior space agency scientists believed the Earth will be hit with unprecedented levels of magnetic energy from solar flares after the Sun wakes “from a deep slumber” sometime around 2013.
It remains unclear, however, how much damage this latest eruption will cause the world’s communication tools.
Dr Lucie Green, of the Mullard Space Science Laboratory, Surrey, followed the flare-ups using Japan's orbiting Hinode telescope.

I really like my OtterBox Defender, as I mentioned in my review above I almost did not switch over to the the Ivyskin Q3. It is thick, it will not work in any of my docking ports but for protection you can't beat it. OtterBox has a new case in the works that my be of interest here. It has not been released yet it is called the Reflex, see the link below. According to the description it has the protection of the Defender with a slim design and a snap off bottom for docking. It sounds very interesting. :)

It is common for certain types of expression (like a brand) to sit under both copyright and trademark. If you are trying to protect a title, slogan, or other short word phrase, generally you want a trademark as a copyright does not cover such types of expression alone.
If your design is intended to identify the source of goods or services (i.e. a logo), it should be trademarked.
While copyright registration is primarily an administrative process (you fill out a form and send it off), trademark registration is an adversarial process.
It includes a substantive review of potentially conflicting marks in order to prove your uniqueness within a market segment.
For example: say you are doing a trademark search for a local motorcycle tuner/builder called "Redwing Motorcycle Company". During the trademark vetting process you would probably get an argument from Redwing Shoes saying the name/mark is too close to theirs (Redwing does sell a series of Motorcycle boots, so they may have some grounds here even though they are in a very different market). I'm a professional DJ who specializes in weddings. In my consultations I actually encourage brides and grooms to consider breaking the tradition about seeing each other and staging some special "reveal" moment prior to the ceremony where they can see each other and take a few minutes together. This allows for them to give their photographer much more time prior to the ceremony to get creative and fun shots and doesn't set up the typical nightmare of trying to get most or all of the formals after the ceremony and before the reception where guests are waiting and things are stressful.
Regardless of seeing each other before, the groom will still have those "holy cow" feelings with knots in his stomach when the doors open and she starts down the aisle. My wife and I used this method at our own wedding and it made things so much smoother and took a lot of pressure off of our photographer.

Yes, the vyper or a case will offer good protection but they are bulky.
They're not bulky. The MBP in the Vyper will still fit easily in another case. Check the outer dimensions of the Vyper and you'll see it's only slightly bigger than the MBP itself.

I got some relief from a similar problem when I set my mail to check for new mail less often than I had previously set it. Seems some servers don't like it when you access too often. I'm at every 5 minutes now, with no problems. Maybe this would work for you?

Maybe I'm getting old, but there doesn't seem to be any right now. :( All of the games I find interesting are being funneled/gimped to the 360, or the promising ones have been blah in general. The only game that my PC buddies got into, which I didn't for obvious reasons, was WoW, which of course is cross platform. Now that's all some of them play. :confused:
I haven't bought a PC game for a few years now. My PC Tower(s) are only on for a little bit of work these days.
What type of games do you like, I can ask my friends if they've found anything good at the moment, or if WoW is still consuming their lives? I've been gaming on PCs since the eighties and prior to this drout used ot game all of the time, mostly online and via LAN parties. And MS thinks we'll pay for services that are still free...

You can install Snow Leopard client from a USB stick. You can google for instructions on how to prepare a USB stick.
A clean install of Snow Leopard would be ideal unless you're moving from an old Mac and would rather not setup and configure everything again.
Or Do what I am thinking of doing after the next Mini refresh, just buy an external USB CD/DVD for $30

I have an idea! Maybe the new iPod's are so new and good, they can't mess them up enough to get the sad iPod(or the folder icon)! Maybe CQ picked out all of the iPods before they got into the hands of the web division of Apple! Maybe they just weren't in the mood to take new pictures!

Since you still have Applecare left, it�s not a sad thing, apart from your data loss on HDD .. this one is quite regrettable :)
You are eligible to grab the new iMac .. with Radeon 6 series GPU!! Why do you sad? Call Apple Store, arrange an appointment, and get your iMac there

Why would that be the case? If you want to sell your computer and you installed lion yourself, why would a computer with lion installed by Apple be worth any more assuming both systems have the same hardware?

That would involve using your restore disk, then installing Lion. I suppose you could install Lion without your restore disk, but Lion won't include iLife on it, so you still need to go back and install those Apps from the original restore disk. Just more of a pain.
This. Preferring the restore disk that came with the computer to be the latest OS version is exactly it. I would logically think that this would increase resale value for that reason alone.
