Very nice - this was overdue and definitely needed. I guess Apple is getting everything in order for all the new products they'll be unleashing in the upcoming months. Here's hoping the QC department at Apple didn't fall asleep though, so that these pages won't actually be required that often. If they are, Jobs will not be pleased... :eek: ;) :D

Well, it's mostly games, which is a pity. I know it's not a gaming laptop but they do sell them through Steam, so I'd like to buy them.
The way you say it, it seems related to the extra power provided by the SB processor. So there seem to be three solutions.
1. Undervolting, which isn't possible right now.
2. Downgrading, and, as in the MacBook Air, fixing another kind of bottleneck (HD operation).
3. Better cooling through termal paste, more fans, cooling pad, etc.
Am I right here? I'd like to know more about this CPU+GPU combo in the same core, because I read it lead to further heating. Is there any truth to this?
Just because it's on steam doesn't mean you need to buy the game... Furthermore, like with Windows, you need to see if the requirements match your system or it'll run poorly.

It is the unibody MacBook. Will it hurt anything to try installing it?
If your 2008 model does have DDR3 in it - that means it'll be compatible. It'll just downclock to 1067.
Try installing it and if the computer doesn't start up and/or sees performance issues just swap the old one back :cool:

Since both drives are internal, you can indeed dedicate one drive to Windows.
If you plan on using it frequently and feel like opening it, you can upgrade the ram and stick an ssd in for a significant boost in responsiveness.
Other than that, you could put Plex on it to replace the AppleTV, or use it as a file/webserver, etc.

On a fully updated install of 10.4.3 on my latest rev iBook, I have never seen myspace freeze. I was going to use firefox until I found out that when I visited myspace in firefox CPU usage spiked. For some reason it doesn't do that in safari, so until that changes, I'm staying with safari.
But the point of all this was, I have no problems at all on safari.
I do not have WMP installed, therefore I get that plugin not found message, I just hit cancel, never once has myspace frozen on me.
That's probably why it's not frozen on you. The lack of the WMP plug-in doesn't cause nearly as many problems for any browser as it might. Firefox, Shiira, Safari, Camino--they all do it--since it's one place for all plug-ins on Mac OS X.
If I go to the profile pages of almost any of the Filipinos, they have literally hundreds of videos, one in each comment and they all play at once. It's possible to turn the things off or to stop the behaviour through settings but apparently, anything goes and if they don't see it, it's not happening. :eek:

The DVI adapter you use is not converting from digital to analog, as DVI can also transmit analog signals and the adapter you use may "look" for the analog part, but it is not there. Hi, ive been using bootcamp for a couple months now, but just yesterday after turning on my mac + holding alt/option and choosing my windows partition, it goes to a black screen with a blinking cursor on the topleft corner. I dont wanna delete the partition cause i have lots of stuff on it and dont wanna restart all over again:(... Can anyone help please? Thank you

I have an Emac that turns on, but doesn't start properly; the screen stays black and the fan is working. It used to beep/flash a light a couple of times to indicate what was wrong (unfortunately I don't remember how many times, but sort of remember looking up what it meant - I think it was a motherboard or CPU issue), but the beeping/flashing and chiming stopped.
Has anyone dealt with a similar issue and what was wrong with your Emac?

I made the switch last year from windumbs, something I should have done years ago. I want to display my new feelings with some desktop photos. I have seen a few O SX vs. win themes, example there was one with the apple logo melting in to the win logo another one had the OS X logo standing on top of the msn butter fly. but for some reason now that I want theme I cant find em! if any one can give me a link to wear I mite find such images defacing the ms logos it would be appreciated

No, but you could do a block copy restore of the install DVD to a small partition on either its drive, or an external HD connected to that machine.
If the 2nd machine is an Intel Mac, its drive will be partitioned using a GUID map. PPC Macs can't boot to a drive using that map - it must be APM. So, if the preceding is true, you will need an external drive partitioned using APM (in the Disk Utility "Partition" tab, click on "Options..." to set the map type).
To make the bootable copy on your other machine's HD (or external drive), run Disk Utility and create a small (10GB should be enough) partition formatted Mac OS Extended (also making sure to set APM as the partition map type). Then, use Restore to copy the DVD to that new partition, making sure to check "erase destination" (which enables block copy).
Start up your other (2nd) Mac using FireWire Target Disk mode (hold down 'T' at startup). Now, when you startup the iMac G4, hold down the 'option', then select the partition you cloned the DVD to on your other machine. You should be able to startup on it, and during install, select the iMac's HD as the install target.
Hope that's not too confusing - I mixed "other" and "2nd" when describing your not-iMac-with-working-DVD machine. The bottom line is to access a bootable partition on that machine that you can boot off of using that machine in Target Disk Mode, connected to the iMac via FireWire.

looking at it are you sure there is a airport card installed check sysytem profiller i think its not there !!
also if there is one it should just be open flap pull cord attched to ther card and press in it should click out
also if there is one it should just be open flap pull cord attched to ther card and press in it should click out

It'll hopefully be announced before/during PMA (now Cliq) in the fall. Of course, they could announce D400/D4 instead. The D5100 is set to be the next camera announcement, though, so I wouldn't expect anything besides that (and maybe their mirrorless solution) before summer.
