Hi
I had contributed $1000 towards my FSA dependent care account in 2010.
Now, in order to claim this amount, both husband and wife should be working, this is not the case with me, as my wife was not able to find a job in 2010.
Will this amount be reimbursed to me by the FSA management company ? as my son went to a preschool, and i paid the school fees every month.

I-140 processing date isn't country specific, but make sure check the date for the center you have applied to - the date varies by center

It means nothing. The second 485 was denied since you already have a green card so
Adjustment of Status is not required.
BTW - why did you file two 485's ?

Guys, I could use some suggestions here. I had filed for my and wife's EAD on July 30th. My wife wasn't working and my EAD is valid until mid-November. However recently my wife got a job offer and will starting work next week. Her EAD actually expires 15th Oct. Reading through posts it seems that the chances of her receiving EAD approval within 75 days is highly unlikely. Can anyone give suggestions on what is the best course of action to follow to ensure she doesn't have to take a break soon after joining?

LC was approved in 08-20-07 but I-140 was not filed within 180 days according to new rules. has any body have this problem? will DOL or USCIS let it slip. please help.

Hi All,
USCIS has mailed my wife two different EADs upon renewal. The first EAD sent to us has a 2yr validity. About a couple of weeks later, she got another one, this time with a 1yr validity.
I spoke with my attorneys and they seem to indicate that the one with the 2yr validity should be the valid document of reference from here on.
My questions are,
1) have any of you experienced this kind of a goof up before?
2) do I just take my lawyer's word for it and ignore one of them?
Please advise...

Supposed my I-485 was approved, am I legally required to go to USCIS, surrender my I-94 card and get a I-551 stamp? Could I just wait for GC to come in the mail?
The card is taking just a few days to arrive these days. Just wait for a few more days. You need the I-485 approval notice to get I-551 stamp.

Trying to help Mother-In-Law over from China for visit. Unsuccessful w/ tourist Visa process, so now going for Green Card. Received Notice of Decision against me, unable to establish my Petitioner wife is daughter of Beneficiary Mother-In-Law. No hospital records. Previous evidence was "Notarial Certificate of Relationship." I have just received new evidence "Notarial Certificate of Birth" from civil authorities - along with affidavit from school teacher - I need to file EOIR-29, I think to call it APPEAL, OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE, MOTION TO RECONSIDER - can anyone provide a "go-by" as to what format my letter should take? Is letter format acceptable or is formal pleading format needed?
Time is of the essence, I have to file within 24 hours or give up and pursue DNA testing....

Do you think the lottery will take place for 2010 year H-1B filing?
zero I think...
H1 filing follows the general employment scene, and with the current employment levels, and the relatively low levels of recovery being seen so far, the chance of a lottery seems almost nil....
H1s for last year ran out just last week, why would 65k cases show up within a day just 3 months later?
However I dont expect it to last till December 2010 like it did this year. Employment is going to slowly improve going forward, TARP H1 hiring restrictons dont apply to many banks...

we are paying social security and medicare taxes where as we are not entitle to any of this benefits. they are taking this taxes based on giving permanent status but they have slowed green card processing near to impossible. that's fine, but taking social security taxes is not right when we are certainly not going to part of that system.
they must stop those taxes till green card is processed.
